Here at Wishli.st we’re always interested in talking to retailers, both on and offline. We can provide a range of tools to help you sell your products by getting them listed on people’s wishlists.
If we can help you with any of the following, please do get in touch and we’ll see what we can do to get you started.
Embedding “Add to Wishli.st” links on your website
Add to Wishlist links on your website allow people to add your products to their wishlists, increasing the chances of a sale. Embedding our code is normally a single line of code.
The Add to Wishlist code works best if each of your products has a unique addressable page and thus a URL which will always point to it, for example our good friends at GenieGadgets provide a page for each of their products (The Wrappers Delight, the Fire Bucket BBQ and the Condiment Gun).
If you don’t have individual pages for each product everything should work just fine, but if you have any trouble, please get in touch.
To include the “Add to Wishlist” link for a product you need to include the following code snippet in your website, once for each product, substituting in values for page URL (address), the item name and the price.
http://wishli.st/add?url=http://www.you.com/product&name=my%20mega%20productname&price=20.00
Each of the values needs to be percent encoded so that spaces and other characters are correctly passed and displayed. If you’re website is built in PHP then there urlencode function can do this for you.
Making this work in your CMS or eCommerce Platform
If your online shop is powered by a content management system or eCommerce software, you’ll need to include the Add To Wishlist code into the template that is used for generating each product page.
Exact implementation’s vary, but most CMS and eCommerce platforms will provide variables for your product’s name and price. These can then be included into the Add to Wishlist link. Replace $name, $price and $url with variables appropriate to your system
