What is wishli.st?
wishli.st is a website where you can make a list of all the things that you want. Your friends and family can then donate money towards individual items on this list and when the total amount for an item is collected we buy the item and deliver it straight to you.
How do I get started?
Click register at the top of the page then enter your email address in the text box and click "Submit". We will send you an email containing a link which you must click to confirm your email address. The link will take you back to wishli.st where you can choose a username and password and enter your birthday and chosen delivery address. You can then start adding items to your wishli.st by clicking "add items". Once you have added a few items you can tell your friends and family about your wishli.st and they can contribute towards the things you want!
How can I tell people about my wishli.st?
1. When looking at your wishli.st copy the URL and email it to your friends.
2. Use the alerts system: when logged in and looking at your wishli.st use the text box on the right to sign up your friends to alerts for your wishli.st - they will receive an email two weeks before your birthday reminding them!
3. Post your wishli.st address as your website on your profile page on websites such as MySpace/Bebo/Facebook.
4. Click here to show your wishli.st on your Facebook profile using our Facebook app.
How do I donate?
Click the "Donate Now!" button by the item you wish to donate to, enter the amount you wish to give then read through the terms and conditions and check the box if you agree to them, then click "Confirm". You will then be taken to Paypal where your payment will be processed securely.
Is wishli.st free?
Setting up a wishli.st is free. Donating is free too. The prices shown by items on wishli.st are marked up on our suppliers' prices. This administration fee helps to cover item processing and postage. Where possible we will endeavour to lower our prices by using competitive suppliers.
How do I know my details and funds are secure?
Your data is stored in a secure database. Luna Submarine Limited, the company that operates wishli.st, is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. As for your funds, they are held in a separate bank account and are only withdrawn when the total is collected and the item is being ordered or if you remove the item from your wishli.st returning all contributions to the contributors. Do I need to register to donate?
No. Just click the 'Contribute' button next to an item.
How can I pay for my donation?
Payments are handled by Paypal. However you don't need a Paypal account to use contribute towards an item - you can use Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, Switch/Maestro, Solo, MasterCard and American Express.
Can I donate towards my own wishli.st?
Certainly! wishli.st is a great way of making expensive things more affordable. By putting an item on your wishli.st your family and friends can help offset the price you pay for an expensive item! Don't forget to thank them!
How much can I donate?
The mininum donation is £5 unless the amount needed is less than £5 in which case the minimum donation is the exact amount needed.
How do I add and remove items?
You can add any of the items in our catalogue. If you can't find an item you can suggest items to add. You can also remove items from your wishli.st at any time by clicking the Remove button next to the relevant item.
What happens when I remove an item with donated funds?
If you remove an item to which funds have been donated then the funds are returned to the donators by Paypal. If the contribution is less than 60 days old then the full donation is returned, otherwise it is returned minus Paypal transaction fees (additional charges may be incurred by Paypal). How many accounts can I have?
You can have as many accounts as you like provided each is registered with a different email address.
How can I close my account?
To close your account click "settings" on the menu while logged in. Enter your existing password and check the "Remove account" box then click "Update". Any funds that have been donated will be returned to the donors.
Are there any new features planned for wishli.st?
There certainly are! For one, our catalogue is constantly expanding as our users suggest new items for their wishli.sts. We also have plans for many more features that will make wishli.st even more useful and easy to use. If you register now then we will keep you updated with any changes we make.
