Keeping it local

Internet retailing and the tech world can lead you to forget about your local area

Here at Wishli.st we’re proud of a couple of things that make the company what it is.

We’re not based in London, and whilst it’s a great place to start your business, you’ll not fail just because you’re not there.

We’re country boys, and don’t live in the heart of a metropolis (though Oli does now live in a ‘burbs through the week).  We love being out and about int he countryside, and we don’t thing basing a business out in the country is a great disadvantage either.  Plus, we can go and stomp about in fields and up hills when we need a breather.

We’re also very keep on our local media.  Working in a technical field it’s easy to forget that for a lot of people their sense of whats going on is not governed by Hacker News, Tech Crunch or even news.bbc.co.uk, their local paper is a major source of information.

So we were very proud when our faces and story appeared last week in the Cumberland and Westmoreland Herald.
